A concert for Christmas

The Burlington Boys Choir -- a local choir with an international reputation -- has been operating since 1959. Our congregation's own Anthony Lester sings with them, and will be singing with this concert.

It's a Christmas Dessert Concert – an evening of seasonal music followed by desserts and coffee. You won't want to miss this delightful Christmas tradition.

The concert is held next Friday, December 7, 7:00 pm at Macedonia Lutheran Church, 421 W. Front St., Burlington. Donations accepted at the door.

Advent Services

Coming up every Wednesday night this December: Advent services on December 5, 12, and 19.

We start with a soup and sandwich supper at 6:30, with the service following at 7:30.

Services will last about half an hour. And there are still spots to sign up to bring soup or other "stuff." We like to have the supper so that everyone -- including those coming late from work can come straight to church and not have to worry about cooking that evening. Come and enjoy a time of food and fellowship, and then enjoy a time of prayer preparing for the Savior's birth.

Covered dish again this Sunday

This coming Sunday, Dec. 2, we'll have our monthly covered dish dinner.

Continuing our theme for our anniversary celebration, the theme for this month's covered dish is missions. So consider bringing something international, maybe even a bit exotic, to mark the theme of missions.

(Just a note ... if exotic to you means fried grasshoppers or something like that, you'll have to eat it yourself. I'm adventuresome, but not that adventuresome ... : )
